Estenest presents: Romania’s booth in Clermont-Ferrand
Estenest cultural association, with the support of the National Centre for Cinematography, organises the Romanian stand in the exhibition hall of the famous Short Film Market of Clermont Ferrand Film Festival (France). This is the first time Romania takes part in the most important short film market in the world, thus Clermont Ferrand joins the list of important film markets where Romania is present, alongside Berlin and Cannes.
Romania’s stand will be called The Romanian Short Corner and will inform professionals attending the festival about the Romanian films lasting less than 30 minutes, done in the last two years, about production companies, filmmakers, actors and technical staff.
Estenest prepared a catalogue containing all the important short films made in 2007 and 2008, including ‘hits’ highly appreciated and aldready awarded worldwide: Megatron (directed by Marian Crisan, 2008), the Palme d’Or winner in Cannes Film Festival 2008; A Good Day for a Swim (directed by Bogdan Mustata, 2008), the Golden Berlin Bear; The Tube with a Hat (directed by Radu Jude, 2007), selected in 70 international festivals, winner of the trophy for the Best Short Film in Sundance Festival and the most awarded Romanian short film of all times; Waves (directed by Adrian Sitaru, 2007), the Golden Leopard in Locarno; Interior. Block of Flats Hallway (directed by Ciprian Alexandrescu, 2008) and Late (directed by Paul Negoescu, 2008), selected in the competition sections of the Cannes Film Festival and Berlin Film Festival, respectively. The catalogue gathers over 35 fiction, documentary and animation short films, as well as a list of Romanian film festivals and contact details of Romanian producers and filmmakers.
