4^th edition, October 2-11 2009, Bucharest

Anim’est is the only animation film festival in Bucharest and the most important Romanian one (900 shorts and features screened and over 18,000 spectators in the first 3 editions), the most popular film festival in Bucharest for 2007 and 2008.

Anim’est has also obtained international acclaim: among the festival’s guests and/or competitors we can mention John R Dilworth, Bill Plympton, Hayo Freitag, Juan Pablo Zaramella, but also local stars of the genre such as Ion Truică (former Palme d’Or contender) or Mihai Bădică.

The competitive and showcase programs of Anim‘est include the most recent international hits of the genre, awarded in festivals such as Cannes, Annecy, Animadrid, Animateka, Anima Bruxelles etc.
