Synopsis:

Doctor Dionis has a medical practice in Bucharest and takes care of many weird characters from the city’s „crème de la crème” with the help of his protégé, the young doctor Marcel.

The doctor, far from being in the prime of his life, decides it’s time he got married and, if that’s how it goes in the 19th century, he buy a much younger wife – Madlene.

One day, the good old doctor stumbles upon a letter that Madlene had sent to Marcel, in which the blushing bride explains to her lover her eternal love and the wish to be together, body and soul.

After overcoming his emotional pain, Dr. Dionis arranges a surprise for the two lovebirds. He drugs them and takes the two to his underground laboratory and fulfills their wish to live as one: he sows them together into a single horrible body.

 In the end, nothing makes a difference: love, money, lies, treason. All the characters end up alone or ripped apart and there are neither winners nor losers, just lonely people, too preoccupied with their own measly existence and empty promises.
